ObjectivesThere has always been a great deal of confusion about academic IS programs. Are they part of CS? Are they part of a Business curriculum? Should IS be an independent academic unit or part of a larger department? Is IS a professional or academic discipline? Our panelsits will offer insights into each of these perspectives in an effort to try an understand why IS programs do not enjoy a consistent place in academic hierarchies
